MinoMiyabi
“Miyabi” is a Japanese word, meaning “elegance” in the hope of my parents. Based on my name and foundations from animation and illustration, my pursuit of art is focused on the balance of aestheticism and consistent logics. Born in Yokohama, I studied Astrophysics in Tokyo University of Science, and Animation in Academy of Art University. I started my career as an animator at Los Angeles-based productions, as a concept designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, and I recently worked as a comic artist of “The Chronicles of Noodle” in Gorillaz‘ 20th Anniversary Book Gorillaz Almanac, Alison Wonderland’s “LONER”, “GENESIS 1” by POPPY, “TheTwisted Tales Of The Ritalin Club 2: Weird Times at Quarry Bank University” by YUNGBLUD, and a collaboration project with the fashion brand Balmain for their collection comic book introduced at Fashion Week in Paris 2021.
I have extended my activity to teaching: Drawing workshops featured inthe master Naoki Urasawa‘s exhibitions in Japan House LA, 2019, along with annual workshops in Anime EXPO, and Comic-Con International since 2012. Currently working on JEHANNE and a few original comic series, I foresees my future as not only careers but also activities onto vast creative fields by collecting the significant elements of my life.
